| Summary, etc. | Cuando hablamos de vendaje funcional hacemos referencia a la utilización de un tipo de vendas (inelásticas o elásticas) que adherimos a la piel de una articulación o un miembro. Las vendas elásticas en solitario no ofrecen soporte pero proporcionan una excelente compresión durante las fases agudas de las lesiones. Las vendas inelásticas, el tape, si se aplican correctamente pueden proporcionarnos soporte y compresión. <br/>El vendaje funcional es un tipo de inmovilización parcial que intenta estabilizar y/o sustituir aquellas estructuras articulares que han sido dañadas (terapéutico) o que van a ser sometidas a una sobre carga (preventivo), permitiendo la movilidad normal del resto de ligamentos no afectos.<br/>Para optimizar la técnica del vendaje funcional es importante tener un conocimiento básico de lo que se quiere lograr y que tipo de vendaje se puede y no se puede hacer. Para ello es imprescindible conocer las estructuras corporales lesionadas y el mecanismo por el que se ha producido la lesión (mecanismo lesional). |

| Summary, etc. | When we talk about functional bandage we refer to the use of a type of bandages (inelastic or elastic) that adhere to the skin of a joint or a member. Elastic bandages alone do not offer support but provide excellent compression during the acute phases of the lesions. The inelastic bandages, the tape, if applied correctly can provide support and compression.<br/>The functional bandage is a type of partial immobilization that tries to stabilize and / or replace those joint structures that have been damaged (therapeutic) or that are going to be subjected to an overload (preventive), allowing normal mobility of the rest of the non-affected ligaments .<br/>To optimize the functional bandage technique it is important to have a basic knowledge of what you want to achieve and what type of bandage can and cannot be done. For this, it is essential to know the injured body structures and the mechanism by which the injury has occurred (lesion mechanism). |
