Introducción<br/>La alergia alimentaria es un problema creciente en los países occidentales, donde su prevalencia está aumentada. Frente a ellas tradicionalmente la única alternativa ha sido la evitación del alimento. En la actualidad han surgido una serie de alternativas que protegen al paciente y mejoran su calidad de vida.<br/>Objetivos<br/>Con el desarrollo del estudio se pretendía describir las principales alternativas terapéuticas para el tratamiento de las alergias IgE mediada, conociendo su efectividad y las principales reacciones adversas que pueden generarse.<br/>Material y métodos<br/>Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica mediante la búsqueda de ensayos clínicos en tres bases de datos científicas, a través de dos estrategias, seleccionando artículos de menos de cinco años y pacientes menores de 18 años.<br/>Resultados<br/>La inmunoterapia oral (ITO) es la alternativa terapéutica más frecuente para las alergias alimentarias IgE mediada en niños. Dichos tratamientos tienen un alto nivel de efectividad, llegando incluso al 94,1%, porcentaje que varía principalmente entre el tipo de patrón seguido y el alimento para el cual va dirigido.<br/>Conclusiones<br/>La ITO es la alternativa principal frente a las alergias alimentarias IgE mediadas, lográndose desensibilizar con éxito a un gran número de pacientes, si bien, pueden conllevar un importante riesgo debido a las reacciones adversas que generan. |

Introduction<br/>Food allergy is an increasing problem in western countries, where its prevalence is increasing. Traditionally, the only alternative has been the avoidance of food. Currently, a series of alternatives have emerged, these alternatives protects the patient and improve their quality of life.<br/>Objectives<br/>The development of the study aims to describe the main therapeutic alternatives for the treatment of IgE-mediated allergies, knowing their effectiveness and the main adverse reactions that can be generated.<br/>Material and Method.<br/>A literature review was carried out by searching for clinical trials in three scientific databases engines, through two strategies, selecting articles of less than five years and patients under 18 years of age<br/>Results<br/>Oral immunotherapy (OTI) is the most frequent therapeutic alternative for IgE-mediated food allergies in children. These treatments have a high percentage of effectiveness, even reaching 94,1%%, a percentage that varies mainly between the type of pattern followed and the food for which it is directed<br/>Conclusions<br/>The ITO is the main alternative to IgE-mediated food allergies, successfully desensitizing a large number of patients, although they carry a significant risk due to adverse reactions that generate. |
