Summary, etc. |

Introduction: Haemophilus Influenzae is a virus that belongs to the Orthomyxoviridae family of which there are three types: virus A, B and C. This RNA virus is the cause of influenza during the winter. It has an incubation period of 48 hours, after which the typical symptoms of headache, muscle pain, fever, chills and cough appears that can persist up two weeks. The flu is a mild disease but in people with chronic pathologies it can exacerbate the underlying pathology.
The main objective of this study is to analyze the cause of the decrease in vaccination in two high-risk groups. As secondary objectives: describe the previous experience of influenza vaccination in two risk groups and to determine what knowledge they have about vaccination.
Material and method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, passing surveys to 100 people at risk, over 65 years of age and Primary and Specialized Nursing.
Results: 34.78% of those over 65 years of age were not vaccinated due to the ineffectiveness of the vaccine, 62.5% of those in Primary Nurses did not do it because they considered themselves to be low risk and 40% of those of Specialized for others motives. 4% of the Specialized and 12% of Primary Nurses recognized all indications. 48% of the first and 44% of the second identified the contraindications.
Conclusions: 1. Considering low risk is the main reason that lead nurses in Primary care not to be vaccinated, against never suffer from influenza of the Specialized and vaccine ineffectiveness of those over 65 years.
2. Areas of improvement regarding influenza vaccination have been identified. |
