Los avatares actuales en materia de educación han supuesto que las escuelas y universidades funcionen por competencias en la formación de los estudiantes, de manera que se les capacite para desenvolverse con éxito en el mercado laboral, desarrollarse en un mundo globalizado y aportar con «sentido humano» los servicios que pueden ofrecer. Los pilares de la educación [1] o las formas de adquirir conocimientos significativos para la vida son las premisas básicas sobre las que se construye la nueva dinámica educativa en un contexto de mundialización o de aldeas globales; preparar a los estudiantes para la internacionalización es hoy imperativo. En un mundo globalizado como en el que ahora se vive, adquirir una conciencia ecológica, sentido de la solidaridad, responsabilidad, justicia social, paz, armonía, democracia, equidad, además de aprender a conocer, son acciones que se piensan en conjunto y como indispensables para la vida compleja del planeta. Los cambios socioculturales, económicos, tecnológicos y políticos exigen nuevas maneras de comprender el mundo y requieren transformaciones fundamentales en los estilos de vida para lograr un desarrollo sostenible. |
