La rotura prematura de membranas (RPM) causa en España aproximadamente un 40% de los partos pretérmino y, como consecuencia, un 10% de mortalidad perinatal según la Sociedad Española de Ginecología y Obstetricia (SEGO)1. En este caso clínico se observó que una actitud expectante con los pertinentes controles ecográficos (índice de líquido amniótico [ILA] y peso estimado [PE]) y analíticos (recuento leucocitario y PCR) puede conseguir un periodo de latencia inusualmente largo, llegando a una edad gestacional más segura. La buena evolución posnatal de ambos gemelos justifica,al menos en esta ocasión,una actitud conservadora |

The premature rupture of membranes (PROM), according to SEGO (Spanish Association of Gynecology and Obstetrics), causes nearly a 40 % of preterm delivery and as a consequence a 10 % of neonatal mortality in Spain. In this case report it was observed that a conservative management with the appropriate ultrasound scan, the amniotic fluid index (AFI), andestimatedweight(EW)andanalytics,leucocytes’counts and C-reactive protein (CRP) controls can get an unusual long latency period, obtainingasafergestationalage.Theadequatedevelopmentafter the childbirth of both identical twins justifies, at least in this case, a conservative posture.<br/> |
