Objetivo: Evaluar la eficacia del aporte de bebidas isotónicas en comparación con el aporte de agua, en los resultados del bienestar materno, fetal y neonatal en mujeres en trabajo de parto sin anestesia epidural.<br/>Diseño: Estudio multicéntrico, experimental, paralelo con asignación aleatoria al grupo control o al grupo experimental.<br/>Ámbito de estudio: Área de partos del Hospital «Joan XXIII» de Tarragona y del Hospital «Verge de la Cinta» de Tortosa.<br/>Sujetos: Un total de 104 mujeres gestantes en trabajo de parto, de las que 52 serán asignadas al grupo experimental y 52 al grupo control, en cada uno de los centros.<br/>Intervención: Al grupo experimental se le ofrecerá una bebida isotónica, mientras que al grupo control se le ofrecerá agua. La cantidad mínima de bebida ingerida será de 150 mL.<br/>Instrumentación: La recogida de datos se realizará mediante la cumplimentación de la parrilla de datos, la cual se realizará al ingreso, durante la dilatación y tras el nacimiento. El grado de bienestar materno se valorará mediante el control de la glucosa y la cetosis durante la dilatación, y el bienestar fetal se valorará mediante el registro cardiotocográfico, la determinación de la glucemia y el pH en sangre de cordón, y<br/>el test de Apgar.<br/>Determinación: Se estudiará si existe relación entre la ingesta o no de bebidas isotónicas durante el periodo de dilatación y la mejora en el bienestar fetal, neonatal y materno. Se observará si hay diferencias entre el grupo experimental y el grupo control. El análisis de datos se realizará con el programa estadístico SPSS 17.0. |

Objective: to evaluate the efficacy of the intake of isotonic drinks compared to the intake of water on the results of maternal, foetal and neonatal wellbeing in women in labour without an epidural anaesthesia.<br/>Design: multicentre, experimental, parallel study with random assignment to the control group or the experimental group.<br/>Area of the study: the labour wards of Hospital Joan XXIII in Tarragona and of Hospital Verge de la Cinta in Tortosa.<br/>Individuals: one hundred and four pregnant women in labour, 52 of which will be assigned to the experimental group and 52 to the control group, in each of the centres.<br/>Intervention: the experimental group will be offered isotonic drinks while the control group will be offered water. The minimum drink intake will be 150 ml.<br/>Instrumentation: the data will be collected by means of the completion of the data grid, which is done at the time of admission, during dilatation and after the delivery. The degree of maternal wellbeing will be assessed through the control of glucose and ketones during dilatation; foetal wellbeing will be assessed through a cardiotocographic recording, glycaemia and cord blood pH and through the Apgar test.<br/>Determination: a study will be carried out to determine whether or not there is a link between the intake of isotonic drinks during dilatation and an improvement in foetal, neonatal and maternal wellbeing.<br/>The existence or not of differences between the experimental group and the control group will be observed. The data will be analysed using the statistical programme SPSS 17.0. |
