| Summary, etc. | En el transcurso de los últimos años, el incremento de la tecnología ha modificado la atención prenatal. La posibilidad de aplicación de pruebas y estudios ha hecho posible que el diagnóstico prenatal de defectos congénitos se convierta en un objetivo del control prenatal. Ronal Dworkin defiende el principio de autonomía procreativa, según el cual todas aquellas decisiones que afectan a la propia reproducción son individuales y fundamentales. Sin embargo, las decisiones que se toman en el ámbito procreativo se inscriben en el seno de una relación asistencial que se establece a lo largo del tiempo. En este artículo se pretende realizar un breve repaso de los principios filosóficos que fundamentan el principio de autonomía, para en un segundo tiempo realizar una reflexión sobre la aplicación de este concepto de autonomía a la toma de decisiones en el caso que nos ocupa: el diagnóstico prenatal de anomalías congénitas |

| Summary, etc. | In the course of the last few years, technological advances have modified prenatal care. The possibility to run tests have made it possible for the prenatal diagnosis of congenital defects to become an objective in prenatal care. Ronal Dworkin defends the principle of procreative autonomy, which means that all decisions that affect their reproduction are the individual’s own and fundamental choice. However, decisions made in the procreative setting are circumscribed to the framework of a healthcare relationship that is established over time. This article attempts to perform a brief review of the philosophical principles that constitute the foundations of the principle of autonomy, and then goes on to make a reflection on the application of these autonomy concept into decision-making in the area of interest: prenatal diagnosis of congenital anomalies.<br/><br/> |
