| Summary, etc. | La osteoporosis es un problema de salud que presenta grandes repercusiones sociosanitarias ocasionadas principalmente por las fracturas que asocia. El fisioterapeuta para promover prácticas saludables en la sociedad debe conocer los factores de riesgo y los mecanismos de prevención y tratamiento de dicha enfermedad. En este estudio se revisan los elementos determinantes en la formación y pérdida de masa ósea y las medidas a tomar para prevenir la osteoporosis, tanto de forma primaria interviniendo con sujetos sanos y ante factores de riesgo como en forma de prevención secundaria y terciaria actuando para frenar la evolución de la enfermedad y prevenir las fracturas y sus secuelas. |

| Summary, etc. | Osteoporosis is a health problem that has large social and health impacts mainly caused by the fractures that it is associated with. To promote healthy practices in the society physiotherapist must know the risk factors, the prevention mechanisms and the treatment of this illness. This study focuses on bone formation and loss of bone mass. The study also includes osteoporosis prevention measures in the form of primary intervention with healthy participants and before risk factors, as well as in secondary and tertiary prevention working to stop the evolution of the illness and to prevent fractures and there after-effects. |
