Resumen<br/>Gran cantidad de estudios evidencian que el parto vaginal es el principal responsable de la disfunción del suelo pélvico, como consecuencia de la hipersolicitación mecánica a que son sometidos los tejidos músculo–conjuntivos y nerviosos del suelo pélvico. Esta disfunción puede dar lugar, en mayor o menor grado, a incontinencia urinaria, incontinencia ano–rectal, estreñimiento terminal y/o prolapsos de órganos pélvicos<br/><br/>La cesárea programada disminuye el riesgo de incontinencia frente al parto vaginal, pero el embarazo en sí mismo, como consecuencia de las modificaciones hormonales y mecánicas que le acompañan, esconsiderado un factor de riesgo<br/><br/>En consecuencia, entendiendo que la cesárea no es la mejor solución para prevenir estas disfunciones, consideramos que el embarazo, parto y sobre todo el postparto deberían ser objeto de intervención en materia de prevención de incontinencia urinaria o ano–rectal y de alteraciones de la estática pélvica. En elabordaje de esta prevención se deberían programar ejercicios de la musculatura perineal en el embarazo y en el post–parto donde además se debería prestar atención a los ejercicios de gimnasia abdominal hipopresiva diseñados por Caufriez |

Abstract<br/>Many researches have proved scientifically that the vaginal delivery is the main cause of the pelvic floor dysfunction, swing to the mechanical stress supported by the conjunctive, muscle and neurological tissue. This dysfunction may cause urinary, anorectal incontinence, constipation or pelvic prolapse to a greater or to a lesser degree. The elective caesarean reduce the risk of incontinence compared to the vaginal delivery, but pregnancy itself is considered us a risk factor because of the hormonal and mechanical modifications<br/><br/>Since caesarean is not the best solutions to prevent these dysfunctions, we consider that ther must be programs to prevent urinary incontinence, anorectal incontinence and prolapses problems during pregnancy, delivery and specially the postpartum period. To prevent all these dysfunctions, there must be programs about exercises for the pelvic floor muscles during pregnancy and postpartum period. Besides, in the postpartum period we need to take greater care over the hipopressive abdominal exercises designed by Caufriez |
