El ejercicio físico y la fisioterapia tienen una relación histórica y conceptual. Además, las actuales consideraciones de la salud y la calidad de vida conectan estos aspectos con el ejercicio físico y el deporte como estrategia para mantener la salud de la población. El objetivo es evaluar la relevancia de contenidos sobre ejercicio físico en los planes de estudio de fisioterapia en las universidades españolas. Los resultados muestran que del total de 72 asignaturas relacionadas con ejercicio físico/deporte, generalmente optativas, 32 se denominan Fisioterapia del Deporte incluyendo principalmente técnicas de fisioterapia para tratar lesiones deportivas, pero aspectos como ejercicio preventivo, ejercicio físico para el mantenimiento de la salud o deporte en personas con discapacidad, no son tan generalizados. |

Physiotherapy and physical exercise have a historical and conceptual relationship. Current considerations about health and quality of life connect those aspects with physical exercise and sports as strategy for populations well-being. The aim is to valuate the relevance of physical exercise content in the physiotherapy degrees at Spanish universities. The results show that from 72 subjects related to physical exercise/sport, most of them optative subjects, 32 are named Sport Physiotherapy including mainly physiotherapeutic techniques to treat sport injuries but aspects as preventive exercise, physical exercise for maintenance of health or disabled sports are not so generalized. |
