Sus resultados se consideran de un elevado nivel de evidencia científica y alcanzan un gran impacto en las recomendaciones realizadas por las diferentes guías de práctica clínica. En este artículo de revisión se sintetizan, se tratan y se divulgan sus aspectos más fundamentales: utilidad, clasificación, diseño, análisis, interpretación, ventajas y limitaciones. |

| Summary, etc. | Cohort studies are one of the epidemiological designs used most in research in health sciences. Their results are considered to make up a high level of scientific evidence and to have achieved great impact on the recommendations made by the different clinical practice guidelines. Their most fundamental features, such us utility, classification, design, analysis, interpretation, advantages and limitations, are summarized, discussed and disseminated in this review article. |
